Private Booking (Home Educators) AUTUMN TERM

Welcome Home Educators! These swimming lessons are for your home educators group only, and the whole pool will be exclusively for your group. There will be two classes: Adult and Toddler Class (with Liz), and Pre-school/ School age class (with Ruth). Ruth will teach in the water with her class. During the early stages of the course, we may merge both classes to help the children settle in, build confidence, and feel happier in the water, with their families as support. The course cost is £80 per child (for 8 lessons).

Our Adult and Toddler, Pre-school and school age swimming programmes, teach children to be happy and safe in the pool. The programmes develop essential water confidence and lifesaving skills. Children learn to swim on their front and back, using doggy paddle, and back paddle strokes, with a strong leg kick action, progressing to learning frontcrawl and backstroke (for the older children).

Each 30 minute lesson includes a wide variety of water toys, resources and games to encourage development of the key water skills, in a structured lesson environment. During each lesson, children learn to enter and exit the water safely. They learn skills such as push and glides, floating on the front and back, jumping into the water from the pool side, turning and returning to the wall, blowing bubbles, and submerging the face.

Our class sizes are small (maximum 5 per class) offering benefits such as personalised attention and activities tailored to individual needs, leading to faster skill development, better safety for learners, increased engagement, confidence and overall enjoyment.

Your child will be awarded a free badge and certificate for each term of lessons that they attend. The Adult and Toddler, Pre-school, and school age lessons follow progression through the Swim England National Plan for Teaching Swimming (formally ASA).

The Adult and Toddler lessons will focus on Discovery Duckling Awards, Pre-school lessons will focus on Duckling Awards, and the School Age lessons will focus on Stage 1 - 5 Awards.

For the Adult and Toddler and Pre-school lessons, all awards can be achieved with or without floatation equipment or support. We provide disc armbands for your child to use, or they can use their own disc arm bands.

All lessons are taught by fully qualified and experienced Level 2 Swim England/STA Swimming Teachers, with full DBS, Teacher Rescue Award qualification, and Swim England Safeguarding in Aquatics trained.
